wind through the grass

this is a series of experimental vessels inspired by my piece ‘very early spring’. I increased the scale ( a tight squeeze in my kiln!) and experimented with different ‘blades of grass’. The blades fed into the mesh really strengthened the mesh vessel structure. Layers of white and then green enamels were applied quite freely. Overall ‘wind through grass’ (the piece on the right) works the best and has the most energy and potential. I’m considering stainless steel mesh and patinated copper to brass blades of grass.
